Partner in the Brookline Dental Studio since 1994. After over 20 years of dental experience, Irene Lipetsker, a general dentist, has discovered her favorite type of work - cosmetic dentistry. Feeling very comfortable with her skills and training in the area, she is known to proudly show off her work to the other dentists and staff.
"I like seeing my patients happy," Irene Lipetsker explains, "When people are not happy with how their teeth look it affects their smile. People are careful to hide their teeth as much as possible making both their smile and appearance grim. After we work together and make their teeth beautiful, however, I can see my patients bloom. They smile more often and their demeanor is much more outgoing and inviting."
The key to well done cosmetic dentistry is that it compliments a person's entire appearance rather than drawing attention to itself. "You want your friends to notice your smile not point at your teeth and say 'I like your crowns'," says Irene Lipetsker. "My patients often tell me that, following treatment, friends say to them, 'wow, you look 10 years younger… but I am not sure why.'"
For Irene Lipetsker, cosmetic dentistry is anything but run-of-the-mill type work. She takes a customized approach to each case. "The smile has to fit the personality, it can be sharp or soft for example. I like sitting down with my patient and finding what fits him or her best. Furthermore, because my orthodontic training gives me a wider base of options to choose from, we have a lot of flexibility to really customize the work."
Dr. Irene Lipetsker's dental career began over 20 years ago in St. Petersburg, Russia. There, after several years of practicing general dentistry, she began to specialize in orthodontics and prosthetic dentistry. In 1989, both Irene and her husband Nickolay (also a dentist at Brookline Dental Studio) moved across the ocean to Boston, MA, where they were both accepted to an advanced dental program at Boston University. Thus, upon graduation, Irene held two dental degrees, one from the First Medical Institute of St Petersburg and the second from Boston University's School of Dentistry.
By 1993, she, along with Doctors Nickolay Lipetsker and Irina Tolmach, had founded Brookline Dental Studio. Irene's interest in cosmetic dentistry flared shortly after and grows to this day.
